    Vol. 2 No. 1 (2025)

The Journal of Asia Social Science Practice (eISSN:3079-7659 ) is pleased to announce a special issue on “Children Well-being and Social Sustainable Development”, focusing on the intersection between child welfare and the broader goals of sustainable development in Asia and beyond. This special issue aims to explore how improving children’s well-being contributes to long-term social sustainability, particularly in the context of evolving social, cultural, and environmental challenges.

    Theme Overview

Children’s well-being is a cornerstone of sustainable development, influencing education, health, equality, and social cohesion. The well-being of future generations directly impacts the social fabric and stability of societies, making it imperative to address children’s needs and rights in sustainability frameworks. As nations strive to meet the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the integration of child-focused policies into sustainable development strategies remains a critical but underexplored area.

This call invites scholars, policymakers, and practitioners to contribute empirical research, theoretical explorations, and policy analyses that address the multifaceted dimensions of children’s well-being in achieving social sustainability. Submissions should provide insights into policies and practices that promote equity, inclusion, and resilience in areas such as education, healthcare, mental health, child protection, digital literacy, and environmental awareness.

Social Equity and Inclusion: Exploring the experiences of marginalized children (e.g., children with disabilities, children from ethnic minorities) in achieving well-being in sustainable societies.

Digital Literacy and Safety: Understanding how digital inclusion and safety impact children’s well-being in the age of social media and online education.

Environmental Awareness and Climate Action: Examining children’s roles in fostering environmental sustainability and promoting eco-friendly behaviors from a young age.

Policy and Governance: Analyzing child-focused policies and governance models that prioritize children’s rights and their alignment with SDGs.
