Research on Smart Cities and Architectural Innovation in Israel

摘要

In commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Israel and in order to promote academic exchange on international cities and architecture, a delegation headed by a professor from the School of Architecture at Tsinghua University went on an academic exchange and study tour of Israel in June 2023, focusing on smart cities.

 the text gives a very clear, systematic account of the itinerary and observations from the visit, then proceeds to analyze Israel's practices and characteristics in the renewal of historic urban districts, the integration of religious and cultural spaces, innovative modern architectural design, and the incubation and display of technological innovation, all supported by on-site investigations in Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Jerusalem, combined with rigorous field observations.

 since the report examines the Baha'i Gardens, the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, and the Peres Center for Peace and Innovation, it very naturally and systematically extracts Israel's approach to balancing tradition and modernity, religion and secularism, and technological innovation with cultural heritage in urban development, therefore offering rich international perspectives and concrete references for urban planning, architectural design, and the development of technological innovation parks in China.
