Abstract

Under the “dual carbon” goals, the construction industry, as a major source of greenhouse gas emissions, faces urgent pressure to reduce carbon emissions. This study analyzes the current situation of carbon emissions in China’s construction industry and explores feasible reduction pathways by integrating domestic and international experiences. The findings indicate that energy-efficient design, green building materials, optimized construction processes, resource recycling, and digital management are effective strategies. A case study of a large Chinese construction enterprise demonstrates the implementation outcomes and identifies existing challenges. Policy and enterprise-level recommendations are proposed to facilitate the industry’s transition toward low-carbon development.
